OVER STAY - BLACKLIST ADVISE
ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTY FOR OVERSTAYING VISA IN VIETNAM 2025
According to Article 18 of Decree 144/2021/ND-CP, foreigners who overstay their visas in Vietnam will be subject to administrative penalties based on the duration of the violation as follows:
- Visa overdue for less than 16 days: Fine from VND 500,000 to VND 2,000,000.
- Overdue visa from 16 days to less than 30 days: The fine is from 3,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND.
- Overdue visa from more than 30 days to less than 60 days: 5,000,000 VND – 10,000,000 VND.
- Overdue visa for 90 days or more: 15,000,000 VND – 20,000,000 VND.
- For foreigners who overstay their visa in Vietnam on an annual basis or do not comply with the regulations on exit and continue to reside in Vietnam: 30,000,000 VND – 40,000,000 VND.
